I need some help. According to his birth record, my great-grandfather was born on Jan 16, 1892 in Philadelphia at 2271 Michan St. That's how it reads on the typed copy of the certificate I got from the city archives. I can't find Michan St. on modern maps of Philadelphia so I was wondering if anyone had any clues for me where this street might have been. Can you get a photocopy of the original certificate from the Archives? If so, perhaps someone could help you decipher it. There's no record of a Michan Street in Moak's book on street name changes.
