I spent some time at HSP today, and I looked up the Upper Germantown Burying Ground records (the register is part of the holdings there), but I noted two things: (1) there was a significant change about 1857 that seems to give ownership to someone else, and (2) the records drop off almost completely about then. The record I was looking for is for William B. CROUT who was buried there; what I did find was that he paid for the right to be buried there. Also, when the change took place, there was a notation that the cemetery would be called Axe's. Any idea how I can get the actual record? Is the cemetery still in operation today? Many thanks!
