Second question: on my great-grandmother's birth certificate I am completely stumped by what is written in for her residence address. Aside from being illegible to me, it doesn't look like an address. There's no number at all. Would anyone be willing to have me e-mail them the scanned document and see what you think? I can only assume that means 4th and Locust since no other explanation is given. That would be in the vicinity of Washington Square on the West, 3 or 4 blocks from the Delaware River Waterfront on the East, and about 8 short blocks (1/2 mile) south of High Street (Market Street.)
