I have been looking for information on my greatgrandparents part time when I can fit it in. I posted the following message sometime ago and a kind person told me how to access the 1880 census. I looked for my greatgrandfather there but didn't comeup with a match. I was hoping that some kind person could lookup James O'Brien in the 1900 census and 1910 census based on the information below. Thank you again for the help I have received on this site-it is greatly appreciated. "My great-grandfather died August 14, 1914 at the age of 59. At the time of his death his obit identified his wife as Catherine. They lived at 2517 W. Allegheny Ave, 38th Ward. Catherine died March 1, 1917. I have not been able to get a death certificate for her from the Department of Hearth-no record available. I was able to find James listed on the 1890 Philadelphia Directory. At that time he lived at 1716 Page Street. James was supposedly a carpenter for the Reading Railroad. I was told when my great-grandfather came to the USA from Ireland he was accompanied by 2 (?) brothers and worked in the coal mines in either Shamokin PA or more likely Shenandoah PA. James had at least 3 children. William died at 14 days 5/9/1885. Catherine, 4 months 7/31/1891. For Joseph Patrick, my grandfather, I don't have a birthdate but he was 70 years old when he died 1/1/58 which would make his birth around 1888. On Joseph's death certificate his mothe r is listed as Mary Gibbons. I'm not sure but this may or may not be correct. Possibly he had more then one wife? I would greatly appreciate it if someone who has access to the census for 1880, 1890, 1900, and 1910 please look and see if my great-grandparents are listed.
