Chester County was not formed from Philadelphia. The three original counties, established in 1682 by William Penn, were Bucks, Philadelphia and Chester. At no time was eastern PA all Philadelphia. You should not post misinformation. There was an Oxford Twp. in Philadelphia County until 1854 when it was consolidated with the other townships, districts and boroughs into the present City and County of Philadelphia.
