Sally, I've made several trips to the Philadelphia Archives. My experience there has been pretty good. There are lots of records there. Most are on microfilm. The down side is that the equipment to view these are old and sometimes in disrepair. On the upside, the original documents are there in the event that it can't be viewed via microfilm. There are usually one or two people on duty. Sometimes they are helpful, sometimes they are not. Be patient. But as I have said, my experience overall has been good.
