Hello, There was a Rita Edel in Bucks county who was originally from the Philadelphia area. She was a teacher in the Bucks County School Dist in the last 60's.As I remember she was an only child. At that time she was in her late 40's. She worked for the Centennial Schools in Warminster, PA. Hope this helps in your search. EDEL-EDELL > Hello - Seeking the parentage of my GrGrandfather HENRY H. EDEL-EDELL, he was b. abt. 1829-30 Phila. it appears, he lived in So. Philly near Wharton St., he married a MARGARET ANN PENNINGTON 1865 while he was a Soldier in the 2 Penn. Hvy Artil., 5 children.... HENRY died 1877. I have had the Hist. Society conduct research, also I have gone over numerous films for B M D at my FHC..also numerous Church records and City Directories ........ the 1850 Census seems to show him age 20 ( name spelled EDAL ) with ANN, who might be his mother, also another ANN maybe a female relative..... there are not many EDEL in Phila., but so far I have been unable to connect my HENRY to a father .... I do know another family of Matthias Edel and Phoebe Bakeoven are not his, they also had a Henry... and I suspect they are related , but I don't know how..... could they be descended from CHRISTIAN EDEL who died 1769 ?? I would sure appreciate any suggestions! > and help on this, it has been a brick-wall for far too long and I seem to have exhausted every avenue of research.......
