Lorri, You may want to consider contacting the Philadelphia Archives. They have police rosters. They are relocating and are currently closed until the fall. http://pacscl.org/city-of-philadelphia-archives <http://pacscl.org/city-of-philadelphia-archives> In the mean time, you could look at the city directory pages. During that time frame, some of the city directories have the name of the person's occupation after their name. I've "rescued" a group of old photographs of young ladies who I believe may have all lived in Black Diamond, WA at the time. I've included the list of photographs along with some additional information I was able to gather regarding those in the photographs. The first is a group photograph including: Jennie (I believe TURNBULL); Liz SPAIGHT; Bella FINN; Lil HUTCHINSON; Maggie EVANS; Edith BOWEN; Edith JONES; Annie HANSON; Agnes ( I believe TURNBULL); Mamie EVANS; and Mary J. THOMAS The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the ladies all appearing to be in their teens or 20's. I believe that Bella FINN is Isabella M. DAVIES FINN b. 2 Aug 1873 the daughter of D. B. and Martha J. DAVIES and wife of W. C. FINN. Bella died 20 Feb 1895 and is buried in the Black Diamond Cemetery. Elizabeth A. "Liz" GIBBON SPAIGHT was b. 27 Jul 1871 in Yorktown, PA to parents David GIBBON and Mary LEWIS. Liz was one of 6 children born to this couple including, William David; Margaret; John; Elizabeth Ann "Liz" or "Lizzie"; David Jr.; and Mary Jane GIBBON, all born between 1862 and 1880. Liz married Thomas G. SPAIGHT with whom she had 4 children including, Helen, Margaret, Thomas Jr., and Samuel SPAIGHT all born between 1895 and 1906. Her husband died in 1926 and Liz and the children moved to Green River, WA. Liz died 22 Mar 1960 in Black Diamond or Seattle, WA and is also buried in the Black Diamond Cemetery. Edith L. BOWEN was living with her husband Joseph H. BOWEN in Black Diamond during the 1910 census along with children Margaret L. and Joseph E. BOWEN. Mary J. THOMAS was b. Dec 1870 and was living in Black Diamond during the 1900 census along with her Mother Elizabeth THOMAS and siblings William, Elizabeth, Maggie, Alice, and Evan THOMAS. Maggie A. EVANS was b. 1879 and married twice, first to Charles W. CAREY (1876-1918) and second to Frank A. YOUNG (1884-1962). Maggie had three children including, Hannah Jane CAREY LEWIS; George CAREY; and Maxine Marie YOUNG FINNEY, all born between 1896 and 1923. Maggie died in 1964 and is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah, WA. The 2nd photograph is one of Gladys JONES STEELE which was taken at the Boyd Studio in Seattle, WA in the 1890's. Gladys appears to be in her teens or 20's at the time. Gladys JONES married James STEELE and together they had a son, James Harry STEELE b. 1904 and died in Renton, WA on 7 Jul 1944 and a daughter Winifred Evelyn STEELE WOODLEY b. 1908 and died in Renton, WA on 10 Aug 1959 The 3rd photograph is one of Selma HANSEN; Mella ALDERSON; and Gladys STEELE and a fourth unnamed woman, also taken at the Boyd Studio in Seattle, WA in the 1890's. The ladies all appear to be in their teens at the time. The 4th photograph is identified as Annie HANSON or HANSEN (name is spelled in two different ways on the back of the photograph) taken at the Boyd Studio in Seattle, WA in the early 1900's. Annie is likely in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. I know that the TURNBULL girls were from Black Diamond and I'm guessing the entire group was as well. I'm hoping to be able to return the photographs to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of one of these families, or you know someone who might be related. Thanks, Shelley
Shelley, You are SO special! To rescue all those photographs, research the families, then offer them to anyone related to them, is so amazing! None of them, so far, am I related to, but I would be SO pleased if you had found pictures of my family. I've "rescued" two photographs of Ruth WHITE which were taken at "The Coronet" Nightclub in Philadelphia, PA sometime in the 1940's. Cab Callaway's band was playing at the club that night and Ruth was photographed with a soldier (army uniform I believe). The night was May 15th but I don't know the year. The couple appears to be in their 20's at the time. Neither have wedding rings on so I don't believe they are a married couple. Ruth's name appears on the back of the folder with the phone number Neb-9706 and an address that looks like 3329 Patter St. (street name is tough to make out). A second address also it written on the folder, it is 2806 Tylor St. (again street name is tough to read). I'm guessing that the second address belongs to the man in the photograph, just not sure. I'd love to return the photographs to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Eddie C. BURLINGAME which was taken at the J. W. Bruce Studio in Providence, RI. Eddie is noted as 2 years old at the time the photograph was taken, most likely in the 1870's or 1880's. Thanks to the assistance of researchers I was able to gather the following information regarding Eddie and his family: Edward Clemence BURLINGAME was b. 9 Sept 1876 in Providence, RI to parents Cyrus Allen BURLINGAME (b. 1845 in RI- d. 11 Jan 1929 in South Bend, IN - son of Cyrus A. BURLINGAME and Lucy A. BLANCHARD) and Evelyn or Evaline Nancy CLEMENCE (b. 1848 in RI-d. 25 Jul 1909 in Allen Co., IN - dau of George CLEMENCE and Nancy IRISH). Eddie was their only child. The family was living in Philadelphia, PA in 1880 and by 1900 they were in South Whitley, IN. By 1910 Eddie's Mother had died and his father was living with Eddie and is first wife Velma. Eddie was married twice, first to Velma HOLLER in Whitley, IN on 23 Sept 1905; and second to Harriet Ann GUNDER SCHUMAKER (daughter of Emanuel GUNDER and Miss SUTHERLAND) in St. Joseph, MI on 19 Nov 1921. He married Harriet after serving time in prison from 1918 until just before they married. Eddie and Velma did not appear to have any children and were divorced before 1913 when she remarried. Eddie did have child with Harriet, a daughter Dorothy Phyllis BURLINGAME b. 19 Jul 1923 in Fort Wayne, IN. Eddie's daughter Dorothy died in Indiana on 2 Jul 1996, she was married to John Frank THOMAS Jr. on 8 May 1942 in Fort Wayne, IN and her husband died in Knox, IN in 1993. Dorothy's obituary listed one daughter, Joanne LEONARD of Fort Wayne, IN. Eddie was living in Fort Wayne, IN in December 1915 when he was arrested for check fraud. He was previously convicted of forgery and was on parole at the time. Eddie had been in trouble with the law for years at that time, in prison at least twice for a variety of crimes, often stealing autos, he was addicted to drugs and finally surrendered to police telling the court he was broken of spirit and in failing health. Eddie died in St. Joseph, IN on 20 Jun 1941 and was listed as divorced at that time. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the SELIGMAN Family. The first is a photograph of Rodney SELIGMAN which was taken at the D. A. Bowman Studio in Mahanoy City, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Rodney likely about 7 years old at the time it was taken. The second photograph is one of Bess SELIGMAN (who I believe is Rodney's Mother - Elizabeth FRALEY SELIGMAN) which was taken at the P. E. Chillman Studio in Philadelphia, PA in the 1880's when she was in her teens or 20's. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: Elizabeth "Bessie" Mayer FRALEY was b. 1861 and married S. George SELIGMAN (b. 1859 in Port Carbon, PA-1927) in 1886 and together they had five children including, Fallon Gladys; Dallas Wilder "Nilda" or "Wilda"; George Rodney; Lawrence Fraley; and Doris Elizabeth SELIGMAN, all born between 1887 and 1899. Bessie died in 1899 and is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Tamaqua, PA. Their son George Rodney SELIGMAN was b. 13 Sept 1891 in Mahanoy City, PA and married Mary Helen FAIRCHILD (1895-1960) and together they had a daughter Helen Jayne SELIGMAN (b. 18 May 1927 in Phoenix, AZ-2005). Rodney and Helen divorced around 1933. Rodney died 4 Aug 1965 in Sebastopal, CA. Rodney's daughter married Otis STEPHENSON and she died 13 Apr 2005 in Phoenix, AZ. Helen's obituary notes that a son Mark STEPHENSON preceded her in death and that she was survived by her husband Otis and daughters Sherry STEPHENSON and Christy BENDER and grandchildren, Joshua and Jesse GROTHE, Michael STEPEHNSON, Trudee ALLRED, and Brandy KLINE, and great-grandchildren Brianna KLINE and Brock ALLRED, and Tucker ALLRED. Her husband Otis died in 2009 and his obituary indicates that Otis and Helen married in 1952 and moved to Tucson, AZ where their three children were born in 1963. They later moved back to Phoenix, AZ. Between 2005 and 2009 a number of additional great-grandchildren were born. Census records provide the following details regarding this family: 1900 census of Tamaqua, PA: S. G. I've "rescued" three old photographs identified as Marion KOLLEY or Midie or Midie Marion. All were taken in studios in Philadelphia, PA sometime in the 1880's to 1890's. One is specifically dated 1894. Two of the photographs refer to her as "Aunt" and one of them includes a "Merry Christmas" greeting as if she gifted the photograph to someone. Marion appears to be in her early teens in the earliest photograph and in per late teens or 20's by the last photograph. I'm hoping to locate someone from this KOLLEY Family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the BUCKLEY of Pennsylvania. The first is one of John BUCKLEY which was taken at the Gilbert & Bacon Studio in Philadelphia, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with John likely in his 30's or 40's at the time it was taken. The second photograph is one of Eliza BUCKLEY and includes the title of "Aunt" on the back of the photograph along with Eliza's name. This second photograph was taken at the Entrekin & Kuebler Studio in Philadelphia, PA in the 1890's as well. Eliza looks to be in her 40's at the time the photograph was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from this BUCKLEY Family so that I can see the photographs returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Harry D. JAMES which was taken at the C. M. Gilbert Studio in Philadelphia, PA . The photograph includes the flag of the University of PA and indicates that Harry graduated in 1895. Harry appears to be in his 20's at the time the photograph was taken, likely in 1895 as he is dressed in cap and gown. I'm hoping to locate someone from Harry's family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ernest CONANT which was taken at the Wilber & Bassett Studio in Erie, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Ernest likely in his 30's at the time. In addition someone notes on the back that Ernest is the son of Hannah CONANT. Based on limited research and thanks to the assistance of a CONANT Family Researcher I know the following about Ernest and his family: Ernest F. CONANT was b. 26 Mar 1847 to Horatio N. CONANT and Hannah Stanwood BAILEY (b. 8 Jun 1817 in Pelham, MA - dau of Rev Winthrop BAILER and Martha STANWOOD). The couple was married in New York on 26 Jun 1842 and lived in Milwaukee, WI where Horatio died 20 Sept 1859. The couple had three children including, Ella Stanwood (b. 16 Mar 1843-d. 27 Jan 1847); Ernest; and Frederick Holland CONANT (b. 18 Jun 1849-d. 26 Feb 1854). Ernest died 26 Dec 1884 in Philadelphia, PA and is buried in the Eric Cemetery in Erie, PA. Death records indicate that he was a widower and that his occupation was Salesman. His Mother Hannah was living with her brother, Francis BAILEY during the 1880 census of Erie, PA. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Hello - Anyone going to the Archives? I would like to find the date of the Julia Drout marriage to Thomas Foley between 1880and 1885 (I think). Thanks. Ed
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Yettie BLAUL which was taken at the Blaul & Co. Studio in Philadelphia, PA. I don't know if "Yettie" is a nickname or her actual first name. Someone has also written "Be" or "Ze" on the reverse of the photograph. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or early 1890's with the young woman likely in her teens or 20's at the time. The word "Penfield" is also written on the bottom of the photograph as well, note sure if it refers to a school or neighborhood or group or family name. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding who I believe is pictured in the photograph: Henrietta "Yettie" BLAUL was born 12 Mar 1861 in Poughkeepsie, NY to parents Jacob BLAUL (b.
