    2. The Archives is slow and disorganized. The budget for the Archives is very small. As far as city agencies go, it is low on the priority list. Sndtenterprises Genealogical and Historical Research

    3. Just curious, I sent a request for a death certificate to Phila. Archives 2 months ago, no response no cashing of check. Are they that disorganized. A few months back had a chance to visit the Philly Archives, and was very disappointed, disorganized, sloppy, just wondering. (Former Philly native)

    1. Re: [PAPHL] Researching KUHN in 1733
    2. The US did not exist in 1733. The Oath of Allegiance was taken to the King of England. There is no Declaration of Intent nor Naturalization Papers before the ratification of the Constitution. The Oath of Allegiance is all there is.

    1. McIntyres & Bradleys circa 1875
    2. Susan McIntyre
    3. I have been following the activities on the Philadelphia records - such as directories and marriage ledgers/notices and was hoping someone would be kind enough to check their resources for the following ancestors documented in Philadelphia circa 1875. In the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia it is recorded... ~~ 4/8/1875 Charles McINTYRE married Mary BRADLEY Witnesses: James McINTYRE & Ellen BRADLEY ~~ 11/30/1876 Patrick McKINTIRE was baptized - (parents were the couple above) Sponsors: James McKINTIRE & Ellen HURLEY ~~ 3/9/1879 Charles McINTYRE was baptized (brother to Patrick) Sponsors: Daniel CARROLL and Susan KELLEY By 1880 Charles & Mary McIntyre and sons had moved to Nebraska - both Charles & Mary died there before 1900. It is my belief that Ellen Bradley and James McIntyre were likely the siblings of Mary & Charles but I have not been able to prove this. I also think that the father of Mary Bradley was named Edward BRADLEY since her fourth son was given that name. I have no idea of what relationship Daniel Carroll & Susan Kelly may have had to the McIntyre family. My only record of this group together is 1875-1876 in the Philadelphia church records and I would be most grateful to learn of any other documents that may contain their names or personal data (such as Ellen Bradley marrying someone named Hurley around 1876-76). Thank you for any help or direction you are able to offer, Susan McIntyre Michigan

    3. Good morning. Does anyone have any information or is anyone currently researching the surname Christian in Philadelphia? I'm specifically interested in the lineage of William J Christian who immigrated from England in the late 1800's. He was married to Catherine (maiden name unkown). He had several children including: Edward H, Mary, Joseph, and William. Please advise if you are. Thank you. Hugh Hugh A. 1. Researching KUHN in 1733
    2. Judith McConville
    3. Hello: I am researching my ggggg grandfather and family who came to Philadelphia, arriving 17 August 1733. They came from Germany by way of Rotterdam on the ship Samuel. ABRAHAM KUHN, born abt. 1683 was from Gauangelloch, Baden, Germany. He was 50 yo when he arrived in Philadelphia. His wife EVE ??. was born abt. 1674 in Germany. She was 59 yo when she arrived in Philadelphia. They brought with them 4 children: CATHARINA, born abt. 1709; FRIEDERICH/FREDERICK, born abt. 1711, d. 10 May 1785 in PA; HANS JERG, born abt. 1718 and ANNA CRETE, born abt. 1722. I have been able to track FREDRICK KUHN to Northampton Co and Montgomery Co. His children to York Co. and Allegheny Co. But.....I cannot find ABRAHAM and EVE, nor CATHARINA, HANS or ANNA. Ancestry tells me there is an early Census of 1733, Philadelphia, for ABRAHAM KUHN, but I have not been able to access it. Can someone tell me where I can obtain this Census. I also obtained information that states ABRAHAM and FREDRICH KUHN's arrival, 17 August 1733 they with 91 other passengers went to the courthouse in Philadelphia and took their oath of allegiance (Declaration of Intent?) Should I be looking for this and possibly their Naturalization papers? Any information about this family and/or direction would be greatly appreciated. Warm wishes, Judy --------------------------------- Yahoo! Mail Use Photomail to share photos without annoying attachments.
