    2. In the original message I sent, the wording for the PA Gen Web Archives was a link. Somehow the address information vanished in transmission. Here you go. I've used this site often, and thank the volunteers who uploaded the information each time I use it! http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eusgenweb/pa/philadelphia/willsabst.htm This page pretty much includes all wills for Philadelphia 1685-1825. First name is a guess. He married Carolina (Carrie) born 16 September 1860. Died 4 May 1908 San Antonio, Texas. Leonard born 1887 and Herbert born 30 October 1889. Isabella married John Mazzeo in about 1903 in Philadelphia. Annie married Rocco Pollo, but we don't know where. The 2nd E did not include all the data in the 1st but it did have addresses which the 1st did not. -- Joe Brady researching..Brady,Walsh,Ryan,McDevitt, Pierse, O'Connor, Iaquinto, D'Alfonso, Ricci, Siravo, Carlino, and more

    1. City Directory look-up
    2. Does anyone have access to city directories for 1860 and 1870 or around those dates (if there was a directory) for JOHN RITER or RIGHTER. In the 1860 Census he was listed in Ward 18, NE Div., Philly. In 1870 he was listed in Dist 53, Ward 18, Philly. There is an address written in across the top of the census page, as "East Girard Ave." I'm assuming that the people listed on that page lived on that street. John appears in the 1860 census as RITER and in the 1870 census as RIGHTER. Any help very much appreciated. Thank you, Jacqui

    1. (no subject)
    2. League Island is actually the name of a park - directly across the street from the Stadiums in South Phila. And abutting the old Navy Yard - also known as Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park or "the lakes" as we kids always called it (when we WERE kids). It may have been islands that were filled in at one point but it was a park in the 50's when I was going to Girl Scout Day Camp there and taking my brothers fishing in the lakes. And, as a point of interest, it is where the Snakehead fish was found last year as an infiltrator in one of the creeks or lakes.
