Another good source would be Alibris (www.alibris.com) & Abe's (don't have there's handy but most likely get it through a search engine ~ ~ I've had very good luck getting books through them. Do you find any with the names of Ramstein, Myrtetus, or Regimenter/Rementer? Many thanks. Jim in OK Jim- No RAMSTEIN, one MYRTETUS: Christoph Gedeon MYRTETUS who arrived in Philadelphia on the 15th day of the seventh month (shown as 7ber) 1749. on the Ship Edinburgh. He was able to sign his own name. No REGIMENTER/REMENTERs -- closest name is REMINGER/REMENGER--Marcus and Elizabeth who arrived on the Thistle in 1738. Joan

Margaret Margaret- Do you have a specific given name or names you are looking for? There is a Joachim Bra"uchle who arrived in Philadelphia on the Anderson on 27 Sept. 1752. There is also a Hans Jerg (this would be John George in English) BRECHLE who arrived on the ship Ann Galley Sept. 27, 1746. Both men were able to write their own names. Joan

Thank you, Sally There are two listings for EDEL: Jost and Rodolf. Jost EDEL is shown arriving in Philadelphia on the Ship Brothers on 22 Sept. 1752. I note that there also some EDELMAN on this ship listed along with Jost EDEL: J. George EDELMAN and Hans Adam EDELMAN. They signed by mark X but Jost EDEL signed his own name (which makes me wonder if the others may also be EDEL and not EDELMAN). Rudlof Edel is listed on Ship St. Andrew arriving on 23 Sept. 1752. There is a question mark beside his name in Vol. I of the book and the signature in Vol. II is hard to decipher but I agree that it probably is EDLE/EDEL. Joan

There are several Georg/Georges in the book but no Samuel or Simon. If your Samuel or Simon arrived in Philadelphia as a child under age 16 they still could have been on the ships with parents but wouldn't appear on the lists. Joan

Thanks Ed Wilson Ed- There are no HORTONs in PA German Pioneers--and I would not expect to find this name in this book either as HORTON is generally an English surnames and the book is only for non-English (mainly Germanic) immigrants -- unless of course in your case HORTON is an Americanization of a Germanic surname in which case I would need to know the German name to look for.
