    2. Larry B.
    3. A attended Finletter School in Olney and always assumed it was named after Thomas K. Finletter, Secretary of the Air Force under President Truman. However, I recently discovered that another Finletter school was in existance in the late 1800s, also named after a "T. K. Finletter". It was built in 1873. Anyone have an idea who this T. K. Finletter was? Larry B.

    1. Bury family / Philadelphia Directories
    2. Justin Kirk Houser
    3. Good afternoon, everyone, I am in search of information concerning my BURY relatives from Philadelphia. In order to determine the death date of William (aka Bazyli) BURY between 1920-1930, I thought that city directories might be my best bet. I live about 3-4 hours from Philadelphia; can someone tell me the best and most economical way to access these from afar - should I write to a certain library or society with my request? Just order the LDS films? Contact a certain look-up volunteer? I'd appreciate any direction on this one. Also, Angeline HORST died in Dec. 1988, per SSDI, last res. Philadelphia, PA. I checked the Philadelphia Inquirer microfilms for over a month and found nothing. Any other source out there for a death notice, obit, etc.? If anyone has information on the following family, or can give suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. They were ethnic Ukrainians | Rusyns. The mother, Anna, was buried from St. Josaphat's Catholic Church (a Polish church?) in St. Mary's Cemetery (Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church). The daughter, Stephanie, was Russian Orthodox. If anyone can help and would like a look-up exchange in Central Pennsylvania (Centre County area), I'm happy to oblige you in gratitude. William (aka Bazyli) BURY, born ca. 1894, Stefkowa, Poland, s/o Jan (Ivan) BURY, imm. 12 Jan 1911 through Ellis Island. Died after 1920 census and before 1930 census, when two of his children show up in orphanages and I can't find the rest of the family. Anna WASYLISZYN, born 15 Nov 1894, Stefkowa, Poland, d/o Mikolaj WASYLISZYN and Anna KLUS; imm. 30 April 1912 through Ellis Island; Died 10 Mar 1971 in Philadelphia, buried St. Mary's Cem., Abington Twp., Montgomery Co., PA. Married - ?, possibly in Altoona, Blair County, PA. Children: 1. Angeline, born 1 Aug 1914 in Blair Co, PA, baptized 3 Aug 1914 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, PA; died Dec. 1988 in Philadelphia; married a Mr. HORST. 2. Mary, born ca. July 1916 in Ohio; died 1954? in Western U.S.?? 3. Madeline, born ca. Dec. 1917 in Ohio; m. a Mr. EGAN. May still be living, somewhere?? 4. Stephanie, born 9 Jan 1919 in PA; d. 11 Oct. 1980 in Philadelphia; bur. Oakland Cem., Philadelphia; m. William Lebisky and had 2 children in Phila. area., which data I have. 5. William Edward, born 8 May 1921 in Philadelphia, died 28 Nov 1994 in Tampa, FL; married Pauline Sipe; 2 ch. in Tampa, which data I have. Best regards and thanks for any insight! 1. Ship Carpenters and Caulkers & Weccacoe Fire Co. from 1844 Public Ledger death notice
    2. l faris
    3. Hello, After months and months I finally received the death notice of my great great grandfather, Thomas D. Haines His death notice appeared in the December 3rd 1897 Public Ledger and invites the Ships Carpenters and Caulkers and the surviving members of Weccacoe Fire Co. to attend the funeral. Any suggestions to find out more about these two organizations? Thanks, Lorraine Maryland --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. 1. Janney in mid-1800's Philadelphia
    2. Natalie Burrows
    3. The Janney family was closely related to the John family. In her diary (mid-1800's) Eliza John often refers to her Janney cousins in Philadelphia. The Diary of Eliza John is on-line. You might find a reference to Isaac or his wife there. This is, however, not my family. Natalie ndburrows@verizon.net
