Does anyone have any source for info on the old Normandy Hotel in Philly? My great-grandfather used to work there, possibly as a chef. Thanks. best, Paul Carr
G ood morning John, Would you happen to have any more information on Mary Ann Mulholland that, married Daniel Smith? The reason I am asking is my brother-in-law's last name is Mulholland but, he was born in Lower Delaware. Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated, thank you. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before or not--but on the 1910 miracode census listings there is a John FAY age 48, born Ireland, living in Philadelphia with wife Bridget, age 46, born Ireland, and children Anna, 22, Catherene, 15, Lathesa, 13, and Mickel 8. The children are all born in PA. Joan
Oh yea, One more thing. If they didn't list the parents on the death cert. they probably didn';t know them. You might find it in an obit and you might not. But if they didn't put it in the death cert it probably didn't make it on the undertakers report either. Laurie, I just went through almost the same thing you are struggleing with. I was able to track down one of the brothers grandaughters and she happened to have a list of the family members. There were 5 or 6 of the 13 children that came from Ireland. I had info that they came from Belfast. That was incorrect....as later I found they were from County Fermanagh.Enniskillen, Boho. What I am trying to say is keep looking and if you can find a relative that may have come over with him or befor him that he was living with or near trace them. No one knew who the parents were on my g great grandmother either and I traced them down with the census reprots as to when they came to America Then I looked for a ship in that year and that told me where they had come from in Ireland. Then I looked at PRONI for the name of the child with a possible birthdate figured from the age on the ship info and the census record. Long and drawn out but I found them. Good Luck. Hello, I'm in Maryland and just learned about the burial of my great grandparents in Holy Cross (Yeadon) I wonder if anyone is going there anytime soon, and they have a digital camera, that they might be able to snap a picture or two and email them to me. If so, please email me directly and I will give you the section, lot and range info. Thanks Lorraine Willing to snap graves in the Annapolis area for others. --------------------------------- Be a chatter box. Enjoy free PC-to-PC calls with Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
