    3. Hi, i live in Malta a small island near italy europe. We have no LDS library on the island so research is difficult. I just e mailed Philadelphia city archives to ask for a death look up for an ancestor for the year 1877. Just for the look up is 40 dollars without the certificate. This is a terrible price . I know all hobbies cost money but this is far to much indeed ! Can any other person suggest any way i can find if a record exists ? Thank you. Keith in Malta.

    2. I have sent an email to the GAR, but thank you for helping. His name was Samuel B. Henderson. I am away from home and my records so I can not give you his units at this time. He lived all his life in Philadelphia. His last address was Talbott St. He worked for Cramps shipyard as a joiner and received a pension from the US gov't as did his wife Elizabeth after his death. What I can recall is that he was a PA volunteer and enlisted several times. Thank you for your help - it is very much appreciated. 3. McElroy's Philadelphia Directory for 1839 lists a Turner's St. running E. from 337 S. 4th Street, and a Turner's Court, N. from Catharine Street between 2nd and 3rd. No Turner's Lane is listed. Catharine Street ran from the Delaware River to 10th Street between German and Queen Streets. All of these addresses would be in the area SE of Washington Square and very near Front Street and the Delaware River.
