    3. Hi Lynne, I don't think anyone has anything to compare to the GENUKI gazetteer but for plain how-tos, there are wikis on Ancestry and FamilySearch, and there's CyndisList (pages of links). The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania has some county-specific guides on its site (genpa.org) but does not have all counties represented. 3. Hello everyone Thanks so much to all of you who have been helping me. I've been a RootsWeb member, a RootsWeb list administrator, and a researcher for over ten years. My enthusiasm for research has waned over the years, in part because I was devoting much of my time to adminning lists and in part because of the paucity of information about the BUSKEY family. These past few days have been remarkable. Not only has this list come up trumps, but I've actually found a real, live cousin via the trees on Ancestry, a descendant of Harry BUSKEY. She is only the second BUSKEY researcher I've ever come across. The first was a descendant of an ancestor so far removed that we really had nothing to share. So thank you, thank you, thank you. Not only did you provide valuable information, you've stoked my research spark back into a full blown flame. Lynne

    3. Hi Barbara Again, many thanks for the article! This one gives us another name to explore -- great! It's interesting that the coroner stamped the death cert. homicide rather than manslaughter. 3. And here's another version: "Trenton Evening Times" (Trenton, NJ) 21 Dec 1924 Mother-in-Law Stabs Man to Save Husband Philadelphia, Dec. 20. Harry Buskey, 35 was stabbed to death by his mother-in-law, Mrs Sarah Stead, police declared. The woman is alleged to have said that she killed the man to save the life of her husband, Walter Stead, with whom Buskey was fighting. According to witnesses, Buskey, under the influence of liquor, went tonight to the home of his wife's parents with shom she had been living because of illness. He became abusive and Mr. Stead, coming home, tried to reason with him. A fight started and Stead, of slight build, was punished severely. Mrs Florence Summers, another daughter and the other women separated them, they declared, but Buskey attacked them again. Buskey, the woman said, had his father-in-law down on the floor and was beating him mercilessly when Mrs. Stead seized a butcher knife and stabbed him four times. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lynne" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 8:49 PM Subject: [PAPhl] Harry BUSKEY murdered Dec. 1924 by Sarah STEAD > > Hello all > > My Lancashire family liked to flit back and forth from England to the US, > resulting in a few children being born in the Philadelphia area and others > born in England.
