    1. Re: [PA-Perry] David Salyers -- Introducing Myself
    2. Hello David: I am a subscriber to ancestry.com, and am occasionally moved to help people out whose stories intrigue me. In searching all of surname Cox in Pennsylvania with keyword "Perry" I found only two!: 1840 census, Perry County, Greeenwood Township: Lewis Cox, age 30-40, wife, age 20-30, no children 1850 census, Perry County, Oliver Township: John Cox, age 45, no occupation listed, born Ireland. Wife: Rebecca, age 42, born PA Children: Mary 15, John 12, Joseph 8, Harry 5, David 3, and Melinda 6/12. All children born PA. John Cox also appears on the 1840 census for Oliver Township, but I did not open that up. I assume that it is the same person. My guess is that Lewis and John are brothers who came from Ireland and married on the "late" side. Son John of John appears to be the right age to have married and had Hayes. I could find no reference to Cox in Perry PA after 1850. Perhaps John followed Lewis who moved prior to 1850? Do you know what state they moved to? From the 1920 IL census, it appears that Hayes married and lived in Kansas from at least 1895-1902. Kathy
