This is an amazing coincidence. I don't know how much of this I have told on this list before, but I come from a long line of packrats, one line in particular. This summer I came into possession of yet another suitcasefull of stuff, mostly family photographs, that mostly belonged originally to my greatgrandmother Rosetta Elizabeth LUPHER GILSON TAYLOR OSBORN 1851-1929 of Crawford Co, PA. (Three husbands, and she outlived them all. I come from the second one). Included among these are four postcard photos of Billy Sunday, in quite good shape, all marked Copyright 1908; he looks to be about 35-40 I guess. Now Rosetta did have Perry County ancestry (she was a LUPFER descendant) but I doubt that she even knew it; her branch of the family had been in Venango and Crawford Counties since shortly after the Revolution. I assume she kept them because she was a fan of Billy's. I suppose they were given out at the services he held or something like that. Another odd thing is, I am actually connected to the York Co Sundays (Sonntag originally) - are they the same family? My connection to them has nothing to do with greatgrandmother Rosetta's line, it's a whole other subject that I will omit from here. Anyway, i have been going through this stuff and gradually putting family pictures that I can identify (some of them are not identified at all, and some have names on the back but I don't know who they are or how, if at all, they connect. Some are probably just friends) on my website. But I really don't want Billy Sunday on my website, not my sort of thing. So if anyone would like copies of these, please contact me privately and I will scan them in the next day or two and send you .jpg attachments.
