Rhoads, aged 15 years, son of Constable Henry K. Rhoads, of Pottstown died Wednesday of tetanus, resulting from running a splinter into his foot. ----Friday, Sept 16, 1892 ------------------------- Peter Johnson, 8th ward, died at 4:30am. Native of Bavaria, Germany, born on December 24, 1813. Emigrated to US in 1835 and lived for 5 years in Philadelphia. Moved ot Lancaster in 1852. Sexton of St. Joseph's Catholic church. Father of four sons and five daughters, but is only survived by one son and two daughters. Last son to die wa sJohn who met a terrible fate at Shamokin a rfew years ago. Widow and these children survive: Charles, living in Baltimore; Mary, wife of Charles V. Wacker, brewer, and Annie, wife of Henry Dutz, of Baltimore. Miss Sterrett is 18 and the daughter of Benjamin Sterrett of West Mazrion Street. Family came from Georgetown, Bart Township, and only moved to Lancaster about 3 years ago. Evans comes from teh same neighborhood and for the past 5 months has been living in Lancster. -- LONG ARTICLE. Francis Latta McCrabb, Little Britain Farmer takes his life. residing near Pine Grove, which is in Little Britain Township was found dead suspended from a tree in a woods near his home on Friday. McCrabb is between 50 and 60 yhears of age. known to be out of his mind. Leaves a family, but his children are grown. Wife has been dead for 20 years. Joseph Lehn died at his residence in Elizabeth Township, near Clay on Thursday about midnight at the age of 95 years. Wife died about 30 years ago. only child to survive him, Mrs. John Graybill of Shaefferstown, Lebanon County. Native of Clay township. DEATHS IN MARIETTA: "From the Times": John Shields, died at his home west end of Marietta on Wednesday morming, aged 77. Born in Marietta on Sept 6, 1815, son of the late Leonard Shields. river pilot, tobacco farming. Widow and four children survive. Children: Leonard, William and Clark, of Marietta, Mrs. Susan Mickey, of Harrisburg. -Mrs. Suaan Graybill, widow of the late Henry Graybill, died at her home on Front Street on Tuesday, aged 81. Surviving Children: Henry Graybill, Mrs. Emma Frazier, Mrs. Samule Mason of Marietta, and Eli Grabill, of Media Pa. -Mrs. Catherin Kastleiner died at home on Front Street on Wednesday afternoon. aged 68, born on Prussia June 17, 1824 and came to this county in 1860. Husband survives. Deceased was a sister of Mrs. Barbara Haner. The relatives of Frank Riley, of Lancaster, the American sailor who was murdered in Italy because he was an American, are trying to get our government to demand indemnity. A special telegram to the Intelligencer from Safe Harbor brought the news of the sudden death of al old resident of Manor township. The name of hte decesased is Levi Brenner, and he was aged about 55 years. He was found dead in bed at an early hour this morning at the house of John Herr, at Masonville, for whom he had been working... Brenner was a son of the late Martin Brenner and was born and raised in the neighborhood of Safe Harbor. He has no brothers or sisters, but several of his nephews live in this city. Benjamin Oldham, aged about 24 years, was drowned at Fite's Eddy, Safe Harbor, PA on Sunday evening while crossing the river in company with Washington Morris. He was the son of Geo. LONG ARTICLE... ----Thursday, Sept 22, 1892 --------------------------- Henry Shenk, a well known citizen of Lower Rapho Township, near Chickies died at his home on Wednesday evening. He was 73 years of age and was born and raised near the place he died. His wife died some years ago and his only child is Rev. Henry L. Shenk, a minister in the Reformed Mennonite Church. >From the "Manheim Sun", Sara, widow of the late Daniel Faesig, died on Saturday afternoon between 12 and 1 o'clock at the residence of her son Aaron Faesig, on South Charlotte Street, aged 80 years, 5 months and 11 days. Deceased was the mother of 12 children, four sons and three daughters survive. Miss Agnes Hertzler, a well known young lady of this city died on Wednesday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Catharine Hertzler, No. 653 West Orange Street. The Funeral of Michael Bartley, late of Dillerville, took place this morning from his home..... A little more thatn a week ago, a daughter of Christian Shaub,k of Paradise, arrived with her four children from ther home in Sterling, Ill. Upon her arrival, the oldest, aged about either years took sick with what proved to be a very virulent form if diptheria and died on Saturday. On Monday night two more died of the same disease. Moses Sharp, an old and well known citize, died suddenly on Thursday afternoon at the home of his son Christian, at New Holland, where he lived. Altoona, Sept 23 -- Mrs George Yelletts, of Tyrone, has received word of the death at Patton Township, Centre County, of her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Stanton, at the age of 117 years. Mrs. Stanton was a direct descendant of American Indian stock, and the feats of strentgh and endurance performed by her in her old age are famous over the western part of the state. She was so far as known the oldest woman in Pennsylvania. She was born at Big Chickies, Lancaster County, 1775. Columbia; PA, Sept 23., Charles C. McCullough and Miss Clara R.
