    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: OLIPHANT, REIFSNYDER, MECK, BLATTENBURGER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/odB.2ACI/463 Message Board Post: Still searching for the story on Peter Oliphant. Is anyone working with the family lines for Isaac Meck married to Susan Reifsnyder and Charlotte Reifsnyder married to Peter Oliphant; both families found in 1850 census for Liverpool? Peter is listed as a merchant. Susan and Charlotte Reifsnyder are reported as twins born December 13, 1807,and daughters of John Reifsnyder and Elizabeth Missiner or Missimer. Charlotte Reifsnyder Oliphant (died 1884) and, she and the Isaac & Susan Meck family are buried in Liverpool Cemetery, next to each other. Peter Oliphant is not buried there. Some possibility he is buried (died 1871) in Ottawa, Illinois. The Oliphant's and Meck's also appear nearly next door to each other in the 1850 census records in Liverpool. A few more clues have cropped up. I have been given the following information in H.H. Hain's History of Perry County 1922: William Oliphant Pg. 252 - Land in Greenwood Twp. in 1776 being bounded by land owned by William Olyphant. Peter Oliphant Pg. 983- Built a foundry in Liverpool Borough but it burnt down and was rebuilt by A.D. Vandling & Sons in 1865. Can anyone tell me anything more on the history of this foundry and its original owners? Does anyone have any further family leads on this Peter & Charlotte Oliphant or any story on these families in Liverpool through 1850-1880? Charlotte is without Peter in 1870 Liverpool Census. I find in Liverpool 1880 census, Charlotte Oliphant, age 78 has 2 grand daughters living with her, Ida Blattenburger, age 23 and Emma Blattenburger, age 18. So somewhere there was a daughter married to an Unknown Blattenburger. Many questions here. Why did Peter go to Illinois without Charlotte? Or did she go and come back? Who were Peter Oliphant's parents? Any information that will help me to connect and identfy these people on a family tree will be appreciated. Thanks, Virginia
