C. Kell, of this place, died of gastric fever at her home at Saville last Friday,aged 79 years, 9 months and 5 days. The deceased was a daughter of Samuel & Mary Rice and was born in Saville township December 25, 1827. In 1865 she was married to Henry Kell, who died May 10, 1889. Their only child was County Treasurer D. C. Kell. Mrs. Kell is survived by the following brothers and sisters: S. H. Rice, Milford, Neb.; Ex-Register and Recorder J.W. Rice, Presho, South Dakota; Conrad S. Rice, Saville, this county; Mrs. G.W. Hench, Saville; Mrs. Susan Kell, Pleasant View, Juniata county and Mrs. Ellen Meminger, Elliottsburg, this county. "Aunt" Julia Kell, as she was familiarly called about her home, was a model woman. Generous, kind-hearted and sympathetic her life was devoted to doing good and her death is sincerely mourned by all who knew her. She was a life-long member of the Reformed Church, having been baptized by Rev. Father Heim. She joined the church in 1843 under the pastorate of Rev. Charles Leinbach and for sixty-four years or up until her death, was a devout and consistent member. The funeral was on Monday. The services were conducted by Rev. H. W. Kochenderfer, of Royersford PA, assisted by Rev. J.W. Meminger, of Lancaster and Rev. Vernon S. Rice of Linfield, Pa. Interment in the Buffalo churchyard, near Saville. Handwritten: September 1907.
