Mr. Henry Hall, of Saville township, in ths county, went a short distance from his own house to shoot squirrels, and having killed one, which lodged in the limbs of a hickory tree, about 60 feets from the ground, the unfortunate man immediately ascended the tree to that height, where he took hold of a dead limb, which broke, and without interruption from other branches, he fell to the ground, and by the fall, his bones were literally smashed to pieces. In this situation it is supposed he lay about half an hour, when his mother fortunately passing along a road a short distance from him, heard his dying groans, which invited her to a view of the distressing scene. She called for the family, but not being heard, she had to leave him and go for them; they carried him home, after which he lived about two hours and departed this live, leaving to survivors a solemn warning to be "also ready".
