Surnames: PERRY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/odB.2ACI/807 Message Board Post: Charles Perry was born in Ireland, year 1839. He settled in Philadelphia, PA (in a place called GermanTown). He died after the 1880 Census and before the 1900 Census. In 1860 Census I find him living in his Mother-in-Law's household, Sarah Brown. He was 22 years of age, born in Ireland, and he was a painter. IN 1850 Census I find a boy, Charle Perry, age 14, living with Mr & Mrs. Stewart. Mr. Stewart is a painter. Location of this Census County: Allegheny, Township: Pittsburgh Ward 7, State: PA, Roll: M432_746, Page454, Image: 390. Perry or Stewart are no where in the 1840 Census. Because Mr. Stewart was a painter, and my Charles Perry was a painter, I believe my Charles Perry came from Ireland with the Stewarts between 1840 and 1850. How can I find the ship he came over on. I have checked all the passenger ships I can find online. Any Ideas would be very well appreciated. Joan

    3. Joan, I noticed in your query for Charles Perry born in Ireland in 1839. You stated that you have looked at the passenger lists that you have found on-line. Have you tried your local library and checked the Immigration books. There is a series out called the Famine Immigrants 1846 to 1851. You might try looking for your Charles PERRY in those volumes. Pat
