Anslinger, head of the United States bureau of narcotics and wife and son Joseph Leet Anslinger, have returned to their home in Washington, D.C., after a visit to the residence of Mrs. Anslinger's brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. J. Gerst Denniston of 518 Allegheny street. (Hollidaysburg) The Anslinger family was summoned here by the illness and death of Mrs. Anslinger's father, the late John Denniston. Mr. and Mrs. Anslinger will leave fore a trip to California during the first week of August. (August 1, 1932) COUPLE OBSERVES 50TH ANNIVERSARY Huntingdon Residents, Parents of Daughter and Son Living In Altoona, Celebrate Happy Event. Mr. and Mrs. John A. Wymer of 926 Mifflin street, Huntingdon, parents of Mrs. Harry W. Krater and Dr. Robert H. Wymer of this city, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on Sunday all living members of the family being present to join in the observance. In addition to the presence of the family members, many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Wymer sent messages of congratulations or called to extend their best wishes. The family members at the home during the day included Mr. and Mrs. Krater and daughter Clayanne, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Wymer, is Renna L. Wymer ad Miss Sallie Hale. Miss Hale, a sister of Mrs. Wymer, and Miss Wymer, a daughter, reside at the Huntingdon residence. John A. Wymer was born Feb. 25, 1854, at Leamersville, the son of William and Hannah Moist. He was raised and received his early education at Woodbury. He is the last of nine children. The Wymer family, originally come from Juniata county, and a number of the members of the family had conspicuous Civil war records. Clayanne Hale Wymer, a daughter of Lewis and Margaret (Fleck) Hale, was born at Bloomfield, Pa., on March 15, 1863. The family was composed of the father and mother and eight children. Mrs. Wymer was raised at Ore Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Wymer were married at Roaring Spring on March 30, 1881, by Rev. J. A. J. Williams, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of that place. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Wymer went to the housekeeping at Hopewell, where they lived until April, 1897, when they moved to Huntingdon, where they have since resided continuously since that date. Mr. Wymer has been a faithful employee at the Pennsylvania Industrial reformatory from January, 1896, until his retirement in March, 1930, where he was turnkey at the main entrance, leaving an enviable record of thirty-four years' service. He has passed all degrees in the I. O. O. F. and P. O. S. of A., fraternities, and has held a number of offices in the respective lodges. For twenty years or more he has been a steward in the First Methodist church of Huntingdon.
