Their first child was born in PA (census records), so I hoped they were also married there. Joseph died 1895, Margaret died 1902, both in KS. State records of deaths began in 1911, so there are no death certificates to write for. I have federal census records of Joseph & Margaret in 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880; Kansas territorial in 1855, KS state in 1865. I have Margaret on fed 1900 census, which indicates mother of 13 children, 5 living. I can only name 10 of her children; three must have been born and died between census years. I am working on my DAR papers through another line, but would love to know if this line also leads to a Patriot. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Lynn
I don't think the Carlisle Presbytery has any records. Copies of the few Presbyterian records that exist are usually found at the county historical societies and state wide at the Presbyterian Historical Society in Philadelphia. You can check out their address on Cyndi's list.com. Where were they in 1850? I have most of my Stewart materials filed by counties.
