    3. I do not know. According to the obit posted on Perry Co. webstie the father of my John Henry Light from Wheatfield Twp., Perry County, was Ludwig Light. John Henry Light (1773-1854), according to the census information, was born in PA. I did find a Ludwig Light in 1790 census in Washington Co, MD. In addition to Ludwig Light in 1790 in same county in MD there was a Benjamin, John and Peter. This John was not in the right age category to be my John Henry Light. I tried to pursue these Maryland Light's on the MD web site, but did not get any information that seemed to fit. The obit. for John Henry Light did not name his mother. The first Penn land patent in 1805 for John Henry Light of then Cumberland Co. had his surname spelled Leight. Family "legend" says that the "e" was dropped. I have had a copy of this land patent since 1952! His second land patent of 1808 had his surname as Light. I have made progress coming forward with some of the children of John Henry Light. But I have not gotten back any further. I am aware of a Light family in Lancaster, but anything that I was able to turn up, did not "fit" either for names or dates. But perhaps there is additional information that I do not have. Incidently, my surname was Lyte because my grandfather changed the Light to Lyte. Long story about that.
