There were Quakers in Northumberland County, PA, across the river from Perry County. Here is an interesting web site AN HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL RECORD OF THE QUAKERS IN NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AND WHAT BEFELL THEM http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~nungesser/John/ElizaDiary/Diary .html I believe this may have been the neighborhood of Shamokin. I 've seen some references to the Quakers in Cumberland County but I can't find it right now. Will keep looking. There were meeting houses closer than Chester County and Lancaster County and Phila. There were Irish Quakers in this area, in the time frame that would be relevant. Hope this helps.
