George Porter was listed as a witness on Henry Malseed's will dated March 8, 1883. Huntingdon Co., Pa. Other names in the will are Ketterman, Hobbs, Rose, Walker, Hatfield, Burns. My ggg-grandfather was Charles H. Malseed b:1844 Huntingdon and he moved to Duncannon, Perry Co. I have his father as John Malseed from Donegal, Ireland. But I am gussing it is John Henry. Is there a connection? Dru2250@aol.com
I am trying to unravel the family connections of ROBERT PORTER, b. 1731 Co. Donegal, Ireland; d. 1823, Millerstown, Greenwood Twp., Perry Co., PA. ROBERT's son GEORGE PORTER m. MARY DOUGAL and dau. SOPHIA m. THOMAS COCHRAN. ROBERT's second wife ANN seems to be the widow of a STEEL/E. His will was witnessed/executed by ABRAHAM ADAMS, CALEB NORTH, JOHN PURCELL and JACOB BOLLINGER. Any info on any of these lines much appreciated. Arlene

Good afternoon, I am new to the list and this is my first posting. Many years ago I was born in Hgb. My grand parents were Emma Hepford and Isaac Landis Nisley. I am trying to find break down a wall on the Hepford side and checking out every lead that I come across. The Harrisburg Statesman newspaper printed on Wed. May 11,1831 that John Hepford and Matilda Shafhirt, were married in Carlisle by Rev. Mr, Sheaffer. I would appreciate any info on the church that could be involved so I might try to find info on John Hepford or Matilda Shafhirt. Thanks, Fred

Hello Elizabeth and Fellow Listers: The Perry Historians Genealogical Library holds records for the Christ / Incarnation Reformed Church in Newport, Perry Co. on microfilm and in book form. Book form holds records from 1861-1928. I am unsure of the years covered in the microfilm. Hello,I had requested this information last year and have since lost all my email due to computer problems. I don't think I received any replies, so I am trying again. Can anyone tell me how I could get information for a couple who were married in "Reformed Parish", Newport, Perry Co PA in 1872? Does this chuch (I assume it was a church) still exist? Can anyone provide me with a way to contact them, preferably an email address? Thank you, Elizabeth

Very interesting name. Lucknow is a city in India located in the modern state of Uttar Pradesh (United Provinces under the British) in the Indo-Gangetic plain that had a very famous siege of the East India Company army by rebels during the Great Mutiny of 1857. It also was a major railway junction later in the 19th century. Here are some other questions re this family: Edward S. Michener had a son Samuel E. and they both operated a retail confectionary business in Duncannon as of the 1930 census. Samuel had a son Edward C. Michener. Did he continue the candy store? Does anybody on the list remember this store, or know if there are living descendants in the area? If so they are cousins of mine and I'd like to get in touch. Bill
