The PA State Archives has quite a bit of holdings of original documents from the Civil War. I copied a form titled; Descriptive list of Deserters. This list was for the 133rd PA Vol. for the year 1862. Thirty men were listed and the description includes age, height, complexion, and eyes and hair color. Most men were from Somerset, Bedford, Cambria or Perry Counties. If you see a name and want more information, email me. Marcia Fronk houston4@netcarrier.com The 30 men are listed below: William L. Spanogle Milton Jones William Jones Jonas Shultz William Shellhorn Samuel Critchfield John Reed William Herr Henry Atchinson Ananias Berkley Andrew Ohler James M. Fishue David S. I have copies of 4 pictures of a Philips family - Kate, Katherine, man, woman- at least one of which is clearly marked as taken in Fulton, Callaway Co., MO. These were in a Snyder-Stambaugh photo album. In going through the information from the Zion German Reformed Church in Blain, Perry, County, I noticed a Mary Ann Phillips who had married a William Stambaugh. I'm wondering if anyone knows about thise pictures. I'd be happy to e-mail copies to anyone.

Julie: Can't remember if I responded back to you or not. Am going through my accumulated email. Thanks for this additional bit of information on Samuel B. & Mary Shatto Perkins. As you have the cemetery information, do you also have their birth and death dates? If I have a birthdate I may be able to figure out who her parents are. I'm familiar with George Elmer Shatto and Flora Pricilla Kouf and their son Harry Benfur Shatto. George Elmer Shatto lost his father in the civil war, family history has that he died in a Confederate prison camp a few months after George Elmer's birth. I can take this line all the way back to the earliest Shattos if you want it. I am curious about the spelling of Mays. I have seen it also as Maze.
