He was the son of Michael Marshall, Jr. and Elizabeth Beatty. He married Isabella Hill on 10 May 1832 and they had two children, James H., b. 1833 and William Crothers Marshall, b. 1836. David may have divorced his first wife and went west around 1840. Did he return to Perry County? Did he remarry? I have good information coming forward on the William Crothers Marshall and would like to share this.

    3. Caroline: Thanks so much for your reply. I hadn't looked at my Gingerich line in a long, long time. I do have the Stoever records but hadn't reviewed them in some time. It's always good to get the synapses firing again. As a consequence I looked on Worldconnect to see what anyone might have done on the Umberger-Gingerich connection and find that a distant cousin had posted some "new" information in 2002 with references to court documents. I'm contacting her to ask for copies but am also passing this information on here. It appears that Maria Elizabeth Gingerich (1747-1813) who married Hans John Leonard Umberger (1743-1818) in Lebanon Twshp, Lancaster County, PA, is the daughter of a Christian Gingerich and Anna Hostetter, viz the following court records I hope to obtain: Lebanon Twshp, Lancaster Co PA Letters of Administration, Bk. 4, p. 382 Letter of Administration to Catharine Gingerich, widow and relict of Christian Gingerich 21 Sept 1787 Best regards, Barry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carolyn K Shearer" <cks@pa.net> To: <PAPERRY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 08, 2004 3:38 PM Subject: Re: [PA-Perry] Gingerich-Umberger > I have a small file of Gingrich info, but could find nothing on your Maria.
