    3. Jeanie, I am sure your source referred to Selinsgrove Pa., not "Selingsgrove." The area surrounding Selinsgrove Pa. was in Northumberland Co. from 1772 until 1813. This area came into Union Co. when Union Co. was taken off of Northumberland Co. in 1813. The area came into Snyder Co. when Snyder Co. was taken off of Union Co. in 1855, and it has been in Snyder Co. ever since. The PENNSYLVANIA LINE (1990), p. 272, locates Selinsgrove as a borough within Penn Twp., Snyder Co. Penn Twp. dates from 1758. If your source said simply "moved to Selinsgrove, in Union Co.," the move would have been between 1813 and 1855. Since your source states "Moved to Selinsgrove, in Union Co. (then Northumberland County)," your source must have been written between 1813 and 1855 and it likely intends to indicate that the "move" to Selinsgrove took place before 1813 while that area was still in Northumberland Co.
