Son of Peter and Susanna BRAUN MERTZ I am seeking his WIFE's name and some of his kids. I am led to beleive he last lived in Sunbury PA Barbara MERTZ born about 1 1802 beleive to be daughter of Jonathan MERTZ Sept 19 1776 . She married Jesse BASTIAN/BOSTIAN I found data that she had a sister Susanna who married Peter Simonson. She should have 5 other brothers or sisters. In 'Circuit and Circuit Riders', Vol 2 by Schuylkill Roots, pub 1/1996, p 248: Notices of Marriage and Deaths: 1818-1822 Barbara MERTZ, dau of Jonathan MERTZ, and Jesse BASTION were married last Sunday, published in the 'Nordwestliche Post' newspaper on 12/8/1820. This was a weekly German newspaper from Sunbury and succeeded the defunct Northumberland Republicaner, but only existed until mid-1822. 1st. & 2nd Series Vol. II Sq. Weitzel's Marriages (Justice of the Peace) from Upper End though performed at Sunbury, Northumberland County PA 3 Dec. Jesse Bastian m/Barbara Mertz in presence of Jonathan Mertz & wife, John Sinton & wife, " Mary Rachel BASTIAN/BOSTIAN" etc. (this falls after an 1820 date and before a 1822 date.
