The "Peacoff" name really helps. I found a George Hammer in Delaware (b. 1805 parents listed as being of foreign birth)who was married to a younger wife with a list of children that were "cigar makers". I've been getting a feeling that he is somehow related to Elizabeth Hammer Peacoff(whether he was a husband or brother). I'll keep chipping away at it. Thanks again for the information.
