    1. St. Michael's RC Cemetery Sunbury
    2. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether there is a cemetery at the following location? In doing research related to something else, I discovered that in 1895 Henry Arnold and his wife Margeret of Upper Augusta Township sold a tract of 1 acre 152 perches to Bishop McGovern, in trust for the Roamn Catholic Congregation of St. Michael's in Sunbury. The deed mentions a right of way to be used to access the property for funerals, so it's pretty clear this was intended as a cemetery parcel. The property adjoined the 1 1/2A parcel of the Sunbury Poor House, south of Sunbury. In 1913, Bishop Shanahan sold the parcel to Charles B. Zerbe, and in 1917 he and his wife Valeria sold it to John A. Lahr of Upper Augusta Township, who at the time owned the farm which surrounded the parcel on three sides (the Poor House adjoined the parcel on the east side) So the Church owned this tract from 1895 until 1913. Does anyone know if the Church actually used this as a cemetery? I have not tried to access the property to look for tombstones. So far as I know, there's no sign near Rt 147 indicating that there is a cemetery near the former Poor House site. If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd appreciate it.
