However, my gr grandfather's (David A. Davis) death certificate lists him as being buried in the Alaska Cemetary. I have their birthdates, but would like to know of any Bevan, Parry, Bowe, or more Davis'. Are the books with listings still accessable? I am doing research for some distant cousins in Wales who were surprised to find a branch of their family immigrated to the US. I'd be grateful if you'd find just one these people listed above. Thank you for answering! Carol
The Oakhill Cemetety (Alaska) has these: Section one, Row #2 DAVIS, Margaret B. - b. 1899, d. no date DAVIS, David J. - b. 1892, d. 1959 - WW I Section One, Row #4 DAVIS, Keren - b. 184, d. 1929 DAVIS, T. - b. 1841, d. 1915. Section Four, Row #3 DAVIS, Dollie - b. 1889, d. 1942 - mother DAVIS, David E. - b. June 29, 1918, d. March 26, 1979 - WW 2 Section Seven, Row #2 DAVIS, Anna E. - b. 1891, d. 1970 DAVIS, John W. - b. 1885, d. 1963. The Mount Carmel Cemetery has 35 pages listing the surname DAVIS. This must be what you are looking for: Section 8, Row #19 - All these grouped together: DAVIS, Hopkin, b. South Wales, Mar. 25, 1823, d. Nov. 9, 1895 -72.7.15 Ann C., b. South Wales, June 7, 1830, d. Oct. 22, 1895 - 65.4.15 Evan J., b. Irwin, Glamorganshire, S.W. Apr. 30, 1826, d. July 11, 1895 Margaret, b. Aberdare, Glamorganshire, S.W., June 4, 1830, d. Aug. 8, 1909. I don't know if these cemetery books are still for sale - they were compiled by "Schuylkill Roots" and published about 1989. "Schuylkill Roots" probably has a webpage - they used to print a catalog. Libraries should have this information also.
