From the Shamokin News-Dispatch, Thurs., Aug. 27, 1964 ELDERLY RESIDENT OF TOWNSHIP DIES Mrs. Jennie Bowman, 74, of 1517 West Independence Street, died at noon yesterday in Shamokin State General Hospital, less than an hour after she was admitted as a medical patient. Mrs. Bowman was stricken ill in her home and was taken to the hospital at 11:00 a.m. A life-long resident of Shamokin, Mrs. Bowman was born March 6, 1890, daughter of the late James and Lillie (Walburn) Walker. She was married on February 20, 1920 in Shamokin to Charles F. Bowman. Survivors include the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dory Crawford, Shamokin; two sons, Thomas Hoffa, Shamokin, and William Thompson, Shamokin; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Farrow Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements for the funeral. ****************************************************************************** **
