First: An apology to those who requested naturalization information. I had much less time than anticipated for this at the courthouse, and couldn't get to everything. I expect to return there this Friday, and will try again. But here is at least some info: To Jay M. Osman: I found no Osmans/Asmans in the 1780 - 1800 time period. To Vince Zotkiewicz: No Paul/ Pawel Miedswiecki, but there is a Peter, a native of Russia, age 28, declaration of intent 9.11.1911. I did not have time to look at the actual record, just the index. If this Peter would be of interest, please email me and I'll get this info for you. To Stephanie Boyd: No Michael or Nicholas Gregorowicz. No Jacob Romanowskie, but there's a Jacob Ramanski, a native of Austria, age 25, intent filed 1896 and petition 1899. There are also various Joseph Romanoskis, but this is the only jacob who comes close. Let me know if you want this, and/or the Josephs. John Hodoba: there's a later one, spelled that way in 1899/1899 (age 21) and also a John Huddabe, age 34, native of Austria, 1892/1894. Email me and let me know if you want one or both. To Diane White: No luck on your Boslegos or Pauline Rutkowski, but I found your John Aleksa. I didn't have time to copy his petition, but I did get a copy of his declaration of intent, (my scanner only does letter size, so I clipped the top and bottom, but nothing important.) This is from Dec. Book 5 #1553. I'll try to get the Petition next time. For those who may not be familiar with the declarations (petitions usually contain even more info), I've posted the Aleksa declaration here. (Of course, the info contained in these varied from time period to time period, depending on the laws then in effect) : http://home.epix.net/~ralphs/Aleksa1.jpg (Diane: please email me once you've downloaded this, so I can remove it...I only get so much free web space) --Ralph
