Who was John Zartman? Who was Elizabeth Wetzel? What was the name of their _astard child? "Know all men by these presents that whereas Elizabeth Wetzel of Lower Mahanoy Township in the County of Northumberland and State of Pennsylvania single woman hath sworn before Adam Lenker Esquire one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County that John Zartman of the same place yeoman is the father of a male _astard child she has lately been delivered of and likely to be come charitable to the township of Lower Mahanoy aforesaid, now know ye that the said Elizabeth Wetzel do hereby confess and acknowledge that I have had and received of and from the said John Zartman the sum of forty pounds in satisfaction of the maintenance education and bringing up of such male _astard child aforesaid and therefore I do by these present quit release and discharge the said John Zartman of and from all actions suits trouble or concerning the same from the day of the date twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.
