On my previous trip i had great success finding Naturalization records & Marriage Documnets. I beleive i also saw this court has Wills/Deeds Was it common for a coal miner to have a will? (c.1915-1930). and what more can i learn from those types of documents. And are there other types of documents that i am not aware of. I have 2 stubborn ancestors that left very little in the way of a paper trail, so every little thing i find is a treasure. both lived in Shamokin. 1 died prior to 1900, the other in 1929. Both were Immigrant Coal miners. Given that Shamokin was an established "City" was there a Shmaokin Courthouse? or Town Hall that might have had records? thanks in advance for any help/guidance when i get close to arrangeing my trip i will post a notice, so if there are folks that need a look up i will try to accommodate. as at least as far as Naturalizations & Marriages go. it was very easy to look people up. this time i intend to bring my laptop & scanner, the copy machine in teh basement of the courthouse, just wont cut it this time.
