I've "rescued" two old photographs which appear to belong to the HILBUSH Family of Pennyslvania. The first is a photograph of Mary J. HILBUSH of Mahanoy, Pennsylvania which was taken at the Krigbaum Studio in Shamokin, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Mary appearing to be in her teens or 20's at the time. Based on limited research I believe that this may be a photograph of Mary J. HILBUSH daughter of E.R. & Harriet HILBUSH who were included in the 1880 census living in Jackson, PA. Mary J. was 12 years old at that time living with her parents E.R. age 41, Harriet age 39, and siblings, Edwin S. age 13, George age 9, Lizzie age 8, and Richard age 3. All family members were listed as born in PA as well as all of their parents also having been born in PA. Mary J. HILBUSH b. 1868 married Morris ROTHERMEL in 1887 in Northumberland Co. PA and died in 1940. The second is a photo postcard of an infant identified as the "daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Edward HILBUSH" and notes that she died in 1916. The photograph was taken at the Swank Studio in Shamokin, PA probably sometime between 1910-1916. I'm hoping to locate someone from the HILBUSH Family so that these wonderful old photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
