Hello, my name is Mark Ertel and I am researching the Ertel family. My connection to Northumberland dates to 1793 and Valentine Ertel and his wife Sophia (Mohr) Ertel. They had four children: Valentine Jr., Daniel, Philip, and a daughter Sophia. I am seeking information about the decedents of Valentine Jr.'s family. I know he married Catharine (Wagner) and that he died 1839. They had seven children: Valentine III, Jacob, Philip, David, John, Barbara, and Catherine; and they lived in Madisonburg, Centre County, this is all I know about this family and would like to learn more! The other question I have concerns Valentine Jr.'s brother, Daniel Ertel and his wife Catherine (Myer, Myers, Moyer) and their early life together in Pennsylvania. I have found Daniel paying taxes in Gregg Twp., but it doesn't say anything about his marital status. His wife Catherine (Myer, Myers, Moyer) and her lineage, over the years, has proven to be a real mystery. I do know that they arrived in Warren County, Ohio in 1798 with three children.
