SUNBURY — Evelyn I. Miller, 98, of Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland. She was born Aug. 2, 1912, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida (Benson) Conrad. She was married to Firmus R. Miller who preceded her in death in 1986. She was a 1931 graduate of Sunbury high School. Evelyn and her husband lived at various places in this country and Canada till they returned to Sunbury in their retirement. She was formerly employed as a secretary for the Boeing Aircraft Co. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury. Evelyn is survived by numerous neices, nephews and grand-neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Charles, Clyde, Harry and Robert, and six sisters, Goldie Bogart, Ann Polan, Mabel Strouse, Flora Hafer, Daisy Conrad and Lera Kunkel. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Apple Chapel of the Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Richard Fangmann officiating. Burial will be in the Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, or to the Degenstein Library, Sunbury, PA 17801.
