Back in 1998/1999 I was doing it as a favor for a music professor Dennis Brown. I am a volunteer for a Polish Genealogical Society in Chicago and back in 1999 there wasn't very much genealogical information online. I was traveling to the National Archives here in Chicago as well as to Washington, D.C. researching my family and to reply to the many queries received at the PGSA. With so much on the internet it's no longer necessary to leave my desk....and today I can complete the research in a week compared to the months it took 12 years ago. My husband's niece is married to a Krupa but he has told me that he is not related to Gene Krupa. If you would like to see the area where Gene Krupa and his family lived....there is a small booklet"Images of America - Chicago's Southeast Side" by Rod Sellers abd Dominic A. Pacyga. It has a photo of Commercial Ave., where I'm sure all of Gene's family shopped. Also a photo of Immaculate Conception Church. Good Luck with your research.....
