Ellen married Walter E Karbley Sept 1890, and they settled in Locust Gap. Their one dau Peoebe died in April 1901 age 9yrs from diptheria,her father Walter went mad from grief and shot himself while visiting his sister in Mt. Carmel in August 7 of 1901,I have found an entry in Northumberland Co death records for both Phoebe and her father but also found an entry for Eve Patton Karbley age 8 died Aug 17 1901..I can not find a burial for them in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, or in Meisers book. Phoebe is listed as burial Locust Gap and that only means St. Joseph's. Would like to find out what happened to Ellen Patton Karbley, did she move away or remarry. There were Patton brothers living with Ellen and Walter before the tragic events unfolded.
