You are probably right that the tavern was probably down the hill on the left, Leisinrings lumber mill was also down that road. The building on the corner of Bear Gap rd, and 54 was a store. My dad owned and operated it from 1956-72. He then sold it to the Romanoski family from the Shamokin area. I believe it was also a post office at one time. I always loved the big stone house, (Leisinring home) and would love to see the inside of it today. I remember as a child, visiting the home down in the watershed that you believe was the tavern. If memory serves me correctly, my dad got an old buffet that the owner in the late 60's or early seventies was going to throw out, and restored it. I do not recall the name of the people that owned the home (tavern) at that time. If you know anywhere I can get the history on the stone home or store, I would appreciate it.
