Author: martiwise Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.northumberland/10009.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: For marriage records, the county courthouse where it took place will have something. Sometimes I find them on line at: http://www.landex.com/webstore/jsp/cart/DocumentSearch.jsp But in your case, I did not find Mildred Elmer. But it is a handy link to have. If you have a death date for your grandmother, you could send away for her death certificate. That will have her cause of death and where she is interred. She died in 1915 in Treverton. I would greatly appreciate any additional information. Esther or Ester Swinehart b:1883 in Cameron township. She was married to Lorenzo Dow Kline on 11/27/1901 in Treverton. All of Esther's info came from Familysearch.org. She died after the 1920 census was taken and before 1942. Big span. I spoke with Gene Faust Jr over at Odd Fellows this past weekend. Apparently a local man went over and was vey rude and disrespectful and now Odd Fellows will not even consider giving out names and burial locations to anyone to put on-line. 1. [PANORTHU] Jacob Denius/Dinius in Northumberland/Union/Snyder Counties
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: WDenius Surnames: Denius, Dinius Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.northumberland/10002/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on Jacob Dinius/Denius, born about 1783. His wife was Mary, also born in 1783. I have found no evidence of Jacob after 1840. It is believed he died in 1842 in Union County. It is also believed that his family lived in Union County, part of which became Snyder County. I think his brother's name was Henry, who was born about 1779 and died in 1857 in Union County. Henry's wife was Anna Maria. Jacob is listed as living in Turbot, Northumberland County in the 1840 census. I know that there were some Diniuses in Lancaster County in the late 1700s, and that part of Lancaster County became Northumberland, so it is possible that Jacob is related to these families. However, there was a Jacob Dinius who arrived in Philadelphia in the 1760s. There, at least so far, is no connection between the Denius family of Union/Snyder/Northumberland Counties and this Jacob, who moved to Ohio. Can anyone help me find our more about the Jacob listed in the 1840 census in Turbot, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania? Author: sharinfo Surnames: Mader Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.northumberland/10001.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Bill, Looking for the buriel site of Philip Mader, born abt 1824 in Germany. Mt Carmel resident from 1870 till time of death which was between 1880-1900. Married to Anna Decker who died Nov 1905 and is buried in St Josephs, Locust Gap. From what I understand, the Mader's were of the Luthern faith, while some of their daughters married into the Catholic faith so I suppose that is why she is buried in St Joes where other family members were later buried. Prior to 1870, the 1860 and 1850 census has Philip a resident of Blythe Twp and Tuscarora. Anna Decker was his second wife.(married between 1860-1870). His first wife was Anna Maria Karthana (?) died between 1860-1870 most likely in the Tuscarora area. Bill, sometime ago you had given me quite a bit of Mader info which has been very useful. If you find anything further on Philip, that would most appreciated. I am attaching an obit for one of his son's, Philip, died in 1928 from the Shennadoah Herold. Refers to the Rev Hansel (?) of the Christ Luthern Church and buriel in Odd Fellows cemetery. Philip was the son of the first marriage so I suppose there is always the possibility his father and mother may be buried in Odd Fellows also.
