The document is written in Slovak and I had someone translated it for me to the best that they could - given the hand writing is not that good. Anyway his Godparents names are Alec (Elek) Sejc' and Sarah (S'era) C'ingova. The person who translated the document fro me says it looks like teh priest wrote an American name in Slovak grammer/alphabet/spelling. If anyone knows these names please let me know. Thank You. I need the 1870 census household for a William Barber (born circa 1832/1833). Wife is either an Amanda or Elizabeth. Residence should be in either Turbot or Delaware Twp. I can't find this census anywhere. I have Amanda in 1880, 1900, & 1910. She and William didn't marry till 1861/1862. So I only have William in 1850 & 1860. Since they lived in Milton, I'm guessing they were buried in Harmony Cem, along Mahoning St. They're not on the roster for burials there, but they might not have had tombstones or they're just gone. Anyway, so I just need the 1870 census. Should be somewhere near or in Milton/Turbot. I'd be grateful for any help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Carmel Cemetery, or in Meisers book. Phoebe is listed as burial Locust Gap and that only means St. Joseph's. Would like to find out what happened to Ellen Patton Karbley, did she move away or remarry. There were Patton brothers living with Ellen and Walter before the tragic events unfolded. I have a bunch of info on Adam (1815) and sons - but I don't see IRA listed in any of the census info for Adam or his brothers. Ira was born in 1832, moved to Doylestown about 1850, and served in the Doylestown Guards and was killed at Fredericksburg. But I can't seem to find him before he moved to Doylestown. Do you mind if I ask how you're related to the Gensels? Thanks! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Floyd's Northumberland County Genealogy Pages 587 thru 611 (1910) John Kerstetter, son of George, was born at what is now Ferndale, near Shamokin, in Coal township, and lived in that township until his removal to Cameron township. His homestead there is now occupied by his son Abraham. He was a shoemaker by trade, and followed farming, owning considerable land, now divided into three farms. That part where Abraham Kerstetter now makes his home was the homestead; another son, Adam, had a second part, which he sold to Nathan Latshaw; and Elias Derk, a son-in-law, has the third part. Mr. Kerstetter was a leading man among the early settlers in that region. Physically he was tall and slim. He is buried at St. Pauls Church in Cameron township, of which church he was a Lutheran member and active in its work, serving in the church council. To him and his wife Polly (Raker) were born children as follows: John F., of Cameron township, who had a large family; Simon; Salome, who married Jacob Weikel; Susan, who married George Latshaw; Catharine, who married Elias Derk; Eliza, who married Daniel Kobel; Adam of Coal township; and Abraham, of Cameron township. (Maria Frey went by the name of Polly. I don't know where she got the last name of Raker. Her parent's names were Frey)
