    3. I checked www.familysearch.org and found the following Is it possible your Frederick Kobel could be Johann Friederich Kobel. Look up Johann there is a possible connection to your Henry...also Your Henry...is it possible that his name could also be Henrich Kobel???? Look at that as well. and one more further down the list in familysearch check out Henry G. Kobel. The information on the previous mentioned names seem to match Henry G. Kobel. Looks like the family later resided in Ohio and Indiana. Hope this helps... 3. I actually know the caretaker for the Odd Fellows cemetery...or at least I did. He was/is the cousin of a very close family friend. I'm checking in to whether or not he still has the records. I will let you all know what I find out. If he does still have them and is willing to allow me to make copies, I would be more than happy to transcribe and/or do lookups. I've been there once and my wife & I walked up & down that steep hill of a huge cemetery and couldn't find our needle in a haystack there either. He will look them up as long as you have the FULL NAME AND DATE OF DEATH. The best way is to either call him in advance or send him a letter. It is not wise to just "drop in" on him, especially if he is involved with cemetery maintenance. Do you know what company took it over? How did you find this out? I understand that the Faust's owned and maintained this cemetery since its inception over 100 years ago.

    2. Arthur Miller
    3. Looking again for any info on early McCormicks in Northumberland Co. In particular, I am interested in George, James and William listed in 1780 census for Potter Twp. In 1790 census I find Agness, Bryan, George, John, John and William. A George and Robert McCormick are listed as Frontier Rangers 1778-83. Another source has John, John, Robert and George listed in militia from Potter Twp. Also, I have a Hugh McCormick who enlisted in Rev. War in Northumberland Co., md. Rebecca Unk. in Westmoreland Co. in 1781and was discharged in Phila. in 1783 and migrated to central Ky. by 1790 and died 1822 in Owen Co., Ky. I am trying to determine if any of these McCormicks are related to my William I. McCormick b. c1755 in Va., md. Maria Cary Eggleston c1776, served in Rev. War, moved to Pa. in 1780's and migrated to central Ky. (near Paris in Bourbon Co.) where he and Maria were killed by Indians c1790. Their son John E. b. 1788 in Pa. was raised by Wm.'s brother (s) and shows up in Bracken Co., Ky. 1806/8. There was a strong link between my later McCormicks in Bracken Co. to those in Owen Co., Ky., so my William and this Hugh could be related. Appreciate any input on this issue. Art Miller, Louisville

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DcB.2ACE/3872 Message Board Post: I have been to the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Shamokin area on many occasions, but one thing that really frustrates me is the lack of a publication of the locations of all of the burials. I first started walking through the cemetery looking for my ancestors and that really becomes a tedious exercise. I then attempted to find out the locations from the caretaker. He is not the friendliest person and usually seems to make me feel like I am inconveniencing him when I ask for help. The caretaker has a book of all of the burial sites and he has told me that there is a "plan" to publish the locations similar to what Mr. Polan and others are doing for the Shamokin Cemetery. That was 3 years ago! Does anyone know if this cemetery is in process of being documented for the locations of the deceased? I am certain that this would save the caretaker and anyone looking for a long lost relative a lot of grief.
