    1. [PANORTHU-L] seeking Conrad Obits & baptisms, Military records
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Conrad, Young, Hill, Miller, Kreiger, Royer, Derk, Hockman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/DcB.2ACE/3889 Message Board Post: I'm decended from my great grandfather Raymond Conrad whose wife & most of their children moved out of Shamokin after his death in 1933. I have lot's of photos & info from that point to present if anyone is interested. I'm seeking the following Conrad Obituaries, baptisms and military records (also any human intrest stories, photos family bibles, diaries, letters, etc. concerning these Conrads if any exist) from Northumberland County: Raymond Conrad (4-2-1887 to 10-1-1933) of Shamokin -son of- John Wesley Conrad (2-1-1850 to 3-29-1932) and Jestine Young Conrad (11-14-1849 to 6-27-1935) of Shamokin John Young, father of Jestine Unknown dates of birth & death. Jestine was born in Donaldson. John H. Conrad (1822 to 10-31-1898) his wife Harriet or Esther Miller Conrad (1820 to 1895) parents of John Wesley Conrad. Now I'm probably back too far to find any newspaper obits, but there may still be baptism or military records for the rest... John H. Conrad's parents: Jacob Conrad (10-31-1793 to 2-20-1858) & his wife Hannah Hill Conrad (born 1796). Jacob's parents: Peter Conrad (11-8-1767 to 6-9-1837) and his wife Magdaline ?Kreiger? Peter's parents: Jacob Conrad Sr. (1735 to 7-7-1812) (Revolutionary war vet, also seeking any military info for him) and his wife Catherine or Margareta ?Royer? (died before her husband or at least he didn't name her in his will, so I assume she had died before him) I have wills for John H., Peter & Jacob Sr. but would be intrested in any wills of the others listed above. I've also not yet found any Estate inventories for any of the individuals above. I'm also seeking Harveen Derk or Paulette Hockman who had the e-mails of Harveen1@earthlink.com, chipmonk@mail2.theonramp.net, chipmonk@prodigy.net, harveen1@adelphia.net, and mudder1@charter.net at one time. I want to coorespond with you concerning the photos you posted of my great great grandparents, John Wesley & Jestine Young Conrad. And also seeking the "Ivan" who posted on this board that he had letters concerning the Conrad line. I'd be interested in obtaining scans of those letters if possible. If anyone can put my in contact with these people or help me find any of these obits, baptisms or military records, I'd really appreciate it. I'm more than willing to share the info I have collected. I will accept transcripts, but prefer a source as close as possible to the original. for example, a scan of the xerox from the microfilm or better yet a scan of the actual record, document, or clipping (I know slim chance of getting the actual clipping! but one never knows) So if you have any of this info that you are willing to share, a jpg scan is easier than typing a transcript :-) I have some sketchy info of Jacob Sr being a Rev War vet, but Also; If any of these men were war of 1812, Spanish American, or Civil War vets I'd be interested in any of that info. Thank you in advance for any assistance. Chris

    2. Just wanted to let everyone know that that if you don't have a laptop and scanner for you trips, that what I did a couple of years ago I purchased a small Xerox copier for $120 and take it with me alot. I have used it when I go talk to people that may have papers to copy. I also purchased a small suitcase to care it in. It is the same size as my scanner and it is about 20inches by 15 by 4 inches. Not sure of that location. But it would be my Uncle Stephen.b.1909. He had a son, Steve, jr. but I cannot recall Steve Jr.'s wife's name. Uncle Steve's wife was Genevieve. But I am thinking that I saw a reference somewhere to a "Mary Swinko" filing a lawsuit in PA against a mine co. for her husband's death, I think that was lung disease related.. That may also have come up in the web search for "swinko" My grandfather, John was married to Mary Najborck, but she died about 1919, in PA. Do you have any approximate dates of marriage? or approx age and year of your Mary Ann? I wish I could help more, as there are not THAT many swinko's!
