I am interested in your Dundore. I have a note that Johannes BRAUN/BROWN was accompanied to America by his brother Christian and sisters Mrs. DUNDORE and Mrs. CUNY. Don't know if that was their name when they came or if they married here. None of your other names are familiar to this Braun line. Jeanie, Mary Kreighbaum (1817-1896) is my 1st cousin, thrice removed. I show her as daughter of (Johann) George Kreighbaum who was baptized at Altalaha Lutheran, Rehrsburg, Berks Co. on 6/16/1792. I have three more generations of ancestors for Mary. Her husband was Isaac Sober (1814-1882), for whom I have two generations of ancestors. I have ten children on file for Mary and George. I did not see the address of the person to whom you replied on ListServ. Would you please send it to me or forward this message to them. I would like to correspond with any who are related to this family. Their surname was spelled many ways, including Kreighbaum, Kreigbaum, Krichbaum, Krickbaum, Krigbaum, etc., etc. Nelson R. Dear Ralph It nice to hear from you. Thank you for the geography lesson. You were the one who helped me with the data I was stuck on about the HELT/RAKER family who married into the BOSTIAN family. I am now working back one generation to the Mary Ann BOWMAN Oct 1833 who married Eben BOSTIAN/BASTIAN. I got into the court house in Sunbury last MAY. It was hot and a radio was blasting away distracting me and a women came in who spoke very loudly and over every one esle she was helping some one find family records. My dad and husband was with me. I was tired being more near the end of our PA trip and It was the first in 20 some years since I last had a look around. So many records so little time. I tried to direct my husband to who we were looking for but he got interested in the old map and in BEN F BASTIAN's history even though he is a very distant kin. I did find George M BASTIAN's land deed and Eben BASTIAN land deed. I had my husband take pictures. They did not turn out as well as hoped but with a bit of eye strain I can make some of them out Ebens is better 1861. He bought 5 propertys off Jos and Julia CAKE on Rail road Ave. That family lived in them up into the early 1900's. Dad said they have been torn down those homes. If I ever get a better chance I will direct more search more carefully. Not sure were to start looking for Mary Ann BOWMAN wife of Eben BOSTIAN/BASTIAN . I guess maybe a will of a father? She is the girl who at 17 was living with J P Shindel family in Sunbury in 1850. M Thompson, I read with interest your surname list on the PA-Northumberland mailing list. I recognize 3 surnames....Garman, Wertz and Kerstetter. I have a (Mary) Catherine Garman that has been rather elusive. The information I have is that John Houseworth married a (Mary) Catherine Garman or Kryder. I am uncertain which name is a previous married name and which is her maiden name. I do not know her date of birth or death. I only know that she was born in PA and probably died in Snyder County, PA. This information comes from the Portrait and Biographical Record of Berrien and Cass Counties, Michigan. This biography indicates that (Mary) Catharine Garman Housewerth died at the age of 60 years in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Her husband John Houseworth was born about 1800. His first known child was born about September 1824. There is a gap of 10 years before the next child is born and this child is named Henry Garman Houseworth, hence I believe Garman to be her maiden name. I believe that John had one child from a previous marriage and then he married (Mary) Catherine and that their first child is born in 1834. Plenty of Wertz. Kerstetters are in my extended family - not doing a lot of research there yet. All three of these lines came to Berrien County, Michigan from PA. I'm hoping you can shed some light on (Mary) Catherine. I believe she used Catherine and not Mary, but I've found info that indicates her first name was Mary. Thanks for any help you can provide. Sue "Rough" Mack
