I am looking for connections to the Troutner family. I am descended from George Michael Troutner. There were several children. We have a discrepancy on my direct ancestor-George Troutner. Part of the family says that he was married to Maria Catherine? and my gr. gr. grandfather says we are descended from Susannah Earhart-daughter of John Ehrhart-b. Prussia-d. 1777 in the Revolutionary War. Another son, Joseph Troutner we can not find a wife for-only children. If you can help with any of this information, it would be greatly appreciated. We have a great deal on the family as a whole. But these are our BRICK WALLS including information on John Ehrhart. Thank you. Pat Morano

Hello, my name is Mark Ertel and I am researching the Ertel family. My connection to Northumberland dates to 1793 and Valentine Ertel and his wife Sophia (Mohr) Ertel. They had four children: Valentine Jr., Daniel, Philip, and a daughter Sophia. I am seeking information about the decedents of Valentine Jr.'s family. I know he married Catharine (Wagner) and that he died 1839. They had seven children: Valentine III, Jacob, Philip, David, John, Barbara, and Catherine; and they lived in Madisonburg, Centre County, this is all I know about this family and would like to learn more! The other question I have concerns Valentine Jr.'s brother, Daniel Ertel and his wife Catherine (Myer, Myers, Moyer) and their early life together in Pennsylvania. I have found Daniel paying taxes in Gregg Twp., but it doesn't say anything about his marital status. His wife Catherine (Myer, Myers, Moyer) and her lineage, over the years, has proven to be a real mystery. I do know that they arrived in Warren County, Ohio in 1798 with three children. I would appreciate any information, or guidance. Thank you, Mark Ertel
Hi Jeanie: Have you ever heard of Rebecca Jane Adams. She is my great grandmother but I can't find her with any of the Adams families in the Shamoken/ Trevorton. Here is what I know: Rebecca Jane Adams was born about 1825 in either PA or NY. Both states can be found in census records. She married Jeremiah Pennypacker on 16 April 1846 in Shamokin, PA. They made their home in Trevorton where Jeremiah was the first tailor in town. Their children were Celeste, b. 1847, Emily, b. 1849, Elizabeth, 1852, Ellen, b. 16 April 1853, and my grandmother, Mary May Pennypacker, b. 2 Sept. 1863. All born in Trevorton. Rebeca Jane died on 27 January 1867 in Trevorton. Jeremiah Pennypacker had another family later in life and he and his wife are buried in the Trevorton Zion’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He died in 1908 and his third wife, Martha Jane Shipe, died in 1824. I don't know where Rebecca Jane Pennypacker was buried but it may be the same cemetery. Anny help will be appreciated. I have been working on the family of Casper ADAMS does any one want me to share my finds with them and or share some of your data with me? Jeanie Just he first part. Descendants of Casper ADAMS Generation No. 1 1. CASPER1 ADAMS was born April 25, 1755 in Langendiebach, Offenburg, Germany, and died January 26, 1832 in RalphoTWP Northumberland CO PA USA. He married ELIZABETH HINKLE in Berks CO PA. She was born May 23, 1773 in Berks CO PA, and died January 01, 1845 in RalphoTWP Northumberland CO PA USA. Notes for CASPER ADAMS: Floyd Book The Adams family has long been settled in Ralpho township, this county. Casper Adams, the first of the family in this country, was born April 25, 1755; at Langendiebach, Offenburg, Germany, and little is known of his early life. On coming to America he lived in Berks county, Pa., before coming to Northumberland county, where he was one of the earliest pioneers in Ralpho township, owning several hundred acres of land there. He cleared some of his land and followed farming. He died Jan. 26, 1832, and is buried at St. Peter's (the Blue) Church in Ralpho township. Casper Adams married, in Berks county, Elizabeth Hinkle, of that county, and they had a large family, six sons and six daughters, namely: Frederick (1792-1853), John, Samuel, Casper, Leonard, Peter, Nellie (married George Startzel), Susanna (married Samuel Startzel), Elizabeth (married Gilbert Liby), Polly (married Peter Strausser), Maria (married Jacob Kreher) and Catharine (married Samuel Anspach). Although Harold Bostian was not born in time to be eligible to serve in the Spanish-American War, there apparently was no other PA volunteer by that name who served in the war. I checked a list of PA volunteers and found no Bostian, Bastian, Bestian, Boustian, or Bustian listed among the names. It seems that no ancestor of his, by that name, served in that war either.
